30 Luger; 50% blue, 10% straw, poor bore, fair grips, 4.75'' barrel, Rare blank toggle DWM 1900 Luger with 4 3/4 inch barrel with full s/n on the bottom. Blank center toggle link. Dished toggles with toggle latch. Full s/n on front of frame. This gun lies between first and second blocks of Dutch 1905 trials guns with 4 inch barrels and may be another unidentified trial variation. All numbered parts on gun are matching. Extra numbers have been added to the left side of frame after manufacture. Checkered walnut grips. Grip safety. Wide trigger guard. Plain wood bottom magazine. This gun is mentioned on page 224 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Fair over all condition. Oxidation and scattered light pitting on the metal. Heavier pitting on right frame rail and sideplate. Strawed small parts show some corrosion and darkening. The bore is worn and pitted. 30 Luger; 97% blue, 70% straw, very good bore, good grips, 4.75'' barrel, Older restoration, blue finish, original strawed small parts, with Ideal stock walnut grips installed. Numbered parts are matching. Original wood base magazine marked "GERMANY" across the base. "GERMANY" stamped across the front of the frame. DWM marked toggle. American Eagle motif over the chamber. The metal refinished over some minor pitting on top of the toggle and right side of toggle housing. The Ideal stock is in very good original condition with generous blued finish on the metal parts and supple leather holster cup, functions fine. Serial number 10044. 7 inch 7.65mm (.30 Luger) caliber barrel with full serial number. "BUG" proofs on bottom. DWM scroll on center toggle link. Dished toggles with toggle latch. "BUG" proofs on left receiver. Grip safety. Wide trigger guard. Checkered 1st type safety lever. All numbered parts are matching including the checkered walnut grips. Proper unmarked wood bottom magazine. Original walnut push-button stock with unique two digit "44" numbering across top of iron and on the wood inside the strap loops cutout. This gun is featured on pages 240, 251 and 252 of the book "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Provenance: Collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Excellent. Restored to 97% blue and straw. Worn and thinning finish on rear grip frame strap. Grips are lightly worn with very minor dings and oil soaking. Magazine has light corrosion on body and minor chips on wood bottom edges. Stock shows normal wear for its age with some minor dings and lug that has been restored to 97% blue and straw. 30 LUGER; 96% blue, 85% straw, very good bore, good grips, 4.75'' barrel, Stamped on top of the toggle with the DWM logo, with crown/B and U proofs on the left side of the receiver and toggle. Crown/B, U and G proofs appear on the bottom of the barrel. All the numbered parts are matching. Has the first type flat checkered safety. Complete with a proper unmarked magazine. Original blue finish strawed smal parts and matching number checkered walnut grips. Generous fire blue finish remains on the grip screws and toggle pins. The finish shows mainly sharp edge wear with some minor spotting on the barrel. The grip straps shows some wear and thinning and the lanyard bar has some minor pitting. 30 LUGER; 96% blue, 70% straw, good bore, very good grips, 4.75'' barrel, Matching with proper and very rare early flat button magazine. A very early production 1900 with unrelieved frame and first type safety. Very few of these were manufactured. A truly rare first production Luger pistol. There is some minor 'pin prick' pitting around edges of toggle housing and along right side rail. With some tiny scattered spots of same on barrel and left side frame. The magazine has numbers '911' added to the wood base, these are not original numbers as these magazines were not numbered at all. Pistol has Ideal grips installed and a Marble front sight. These were common special order options on these early Lugers. Inlcudes a leather covered wood display box, fitted and felt lined, period unknown. Also two extra magazines. One a Portuguese and the other a 1920 Commercial. These will not fit the gun but are included, along with a tin ammunition box marked for 'Schrotpatronen 9m/m System Flobert' with a very good original label, again not for the pistol but included., s/n 1xx, Catalog Number D-200

DWM scroll on center toggle link. Dished toggles with intact toggle latch. Grip safety. Checkered walnut grips. Proper plain wood bottom magazine with flat button. Unique frame numbering with the serial number on the back of the frame above the lanyard bar. All numbered parts are matching except for the grips which are numbered 18. In a black leatherette DWM factory case with plain lid and no handle. Green felt interior includes a cleaning rod/oiler handle, pin punch and takedown tool. Partioned for two spare magazines, an extra original flat button magazine included. This case is featured on page 1432 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Excellent condition over all. Period restoration. Small dent of front grip strap. Bore show wear and heavy frost throughout. There is a small area of scratching on the left side of the toggle housing where it appears a marking was defaced. Grips show minor handling. Frame has a small crack on rear grip strap to the right of the grip safety. Excellent magazine with replaced base and pin. Mechanically excellent. Accessories in case are in excellent condition. The case itself has normal wear for its age with some spots worn through on the exterior which appears to have been dyed. Fittings for key hole are missing. Serial number 21306. 4.75 inch .30 Cal. barrel hand engraved "Juan Canedo. / 611 Rividavia 611 / Buenos Aires" over the left side. "DWM" scroll on center toggle link. Dished toggles. Crown/B, U and G proofed. Grip safety. Checkered walnut grips. Proper plain wood bottom magazine. Juan Canedo was one of the major importers of the Luger pistol into Argentina and also had a retail shop. All numbered parts are matching. Period modifications to this gun include the three line address on the barrel which would have been applied at Canedo's shop together with custom checkering added to the front surface of the trigger, and a small screw on the sear bar for trigger pull adjustment. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Excellent retaining 98% original blue finish and 97% original straw. Grips are sharp with beautiful color and wood grain. DWM scroll on center toggle link. Crown/BUG proofed toggle. Grip safety, wide trigger guard, checkered safety. All numbered parts are matching including the checkered walnut grips. Swiss style wood disc magazine. This pistol is featured on pages 566 and 590 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. An old restoration. Some spotting on the top of the left toggle and the left side of the magazine release button. The bore is worn and pitted. "DWM" scroll on center toggle link. Dished toggles. Script "GL" on rear toggle link. No other external markings or proof marks and no internal parts numbering. Serial 6A was applied for importation. Grip safety. Plain wood bottom magazine. This gun is the same configuration as the 1900 U.S. test trials guns, and this may have been a prototype for that series. This gun is featured on page 283 of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols". Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Retains 70% original blue finish which has thinned and dulled and 30% original straw. Grips are lightly worn with a small area of compression on the left grip. Early plated sheet steel magazine with unmarked wood bottom, has a flat uncheckered loading button on the right side. Tapered "pencil" barrel with fixed inverted V front sight. V notch fixed rear sight on rear toggle. Early 1st type checkered safety. Dished toggles with latch, wide trigger guard. DWM monogram on top of the toggle. The metal finish shows minor edge and high point wear. There area few tiny spots of minor surface spotting on the barrel. Mechanically fine and clean. Accompanying this carbine is an original retailers attache style case for Luger Carbines. Leather covered with brass fittings, complete with the original key for the lock. English fit green felt covered interior. Latches and lock are marked "EAGLE LOCK CO./TERRYVILLE CONN./U.S.A.". The case shows its age internally and externally with cracking of the leather and edge wear. The interior has faded color with wear. A rare item for the Luger carbines that remains in original intact condition. Also includes an original takedown tool, pin punch tool, extra proper magazine, leather shoulder strap and an original box of 50 rounds circa 1920s 7,65mm Parabellum ammunition.
