9mm Luger; 80% blue, 30% straw, fair bore, fair grips, 7 7/8'' barrel, Original blue finish, strawed small parts and checkered walnut grips. All matching except the proper variation magazine which is numbered 7232h/+. The right grip panel is not numbered however matches the left grip panel is color and condition. Fine tune front and rear sights. Stamped on top of the toggle with the DWM logo and on top of the chamber with the date 1915. Standard Imperial proofs and military acceptance marks. The metal finish shows wear and areas of thinning. The metal surface has some minor spotting with light pitting on both sides of the barrel muzzle, right side rail and frame above the grip and on the front and rear grip straps. There is an area of heavier pitting on the left side of the toggle housing. The grips show wear with smoothed but well defined checkering. The straw color on the small parts has mostly faded away with traces of color remaining. The grips are over all good, the left panel having a small chip missing under the safety lever. Mechanically fine. The bore shows some wear and light corrosion in the grooves. Rig, includes an original wooden shoulder stock which is not matching to the gun, with an Imperial proof on the left side. The stock has worn finish with spotting on the attaching iron and locking lever. Attached to the stock with original leather straps is an original leather holster in fair condition, no legible date. The holster has a repaired lifting strap and a torn end on the flap upstrap. The shoulder strap has a repair and the cup is missing the small keeper strap on the bottom. 'GERMANY" export stamped across on the front of the frame and bottom of the magazine base. The metal finish shows some high point holster wear. Mechanically fine. The German designation for the unit was Infanterie-Regiment "Prinz Carl" (4. Grossherzoglich Hessisches) Nr. 118. The metal finish shows light high point holster wear. Some minor spotting on the front grip frame strap and a small area of spotting on the lower end of the sideplate hump. The right grip panel has a lightly carved swaztika. Mechanically fine. 9mm Luger; 75% blue, 30% straw, good bore, good grips, 7 7/8'' barrel, Ultra rare DWM Prototype Artillery LP08 Luger pistol, serial number 4. 9mm barrel with prototype artillery rear tangent sight with prototype engraved numbering on the leaf. Fine tune adjustment front and rear sights, the front sight adjustment screw with a flat head as opposed to the rounded head on the rear sight adjustment screw. The foresight blade and bed have dual timing marks on top surface. Serial number 4 on the numbered parts marked in the commercial style. No date on chamber and no commercial or military proofs or inspection marks. DWM monogram on top of center toggle. All numbered parts are matching except for the magazine and the right grip which is serial numbered "2". Left grip is serial numbered "04", while all other parts have the one digit number 4. The magazine is a sheet steel wood bottom variation, serial numbered 121b. This gun is featured on page 934 of "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Provenance: Collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Good overall. Retaining 75% original blue with scattered light pitting that is deepest on front grip strap and trigger guard and also on front of right frame rail. Retains 30% original straw on small parts with scattered corrosion. Bore is strong with moderate frost. Grips are lightly worn and oil soaked with some dings and chips to checkering. Complete with the proper wood bottom magazine which is stamped 'Cal 9m/m' on the bottom. The metal finish show minor sharp edge wear and the grips show minor handling. Mechanically fine. Original blue finish, strawed small parts and checkered walnut grips. All numbered parts are matching (Farsi) including the magazine. Stamped on top of the chamber with the small Persian crest. Used, mechanically fine, complete and original. Includes an original Persian Artillery rig, wood flat board stock not matching to the gun. Original leather holster, straps and double magazine pouch all in good intact condition. Original unmarked takedown tool inside the pouch under the flap and original cleaning rod in the pouch along the leading edge of the holster. Also includes an extra magazine, not original to the rig, early Mauser variation with aluminum bottom re-numbered 0109h with droop eagle/63 proof. Our import mark on the bottom of the frame. MAUSER BANNER 1936 SIAMESE ARTILLERY MAUSER BANNER 1936 SIAMESE ARTILLERY
9mm Luger; 75% blue, very good bore, fair grips, 8'' barrel, Mauser produced artillery model LP08 Luger pistol for a Siamese contract. Original blue finish, strawed small parts and checkered walnut grips. The numbered parts are matching except the rear sight leaf. The magazine is original and matching. Stamped on the top of the toggle with a 5-line Mauser banner logo and on top of the chamber with the date 1936. Oberndorf crown/U proofs appear on the left side of the receiver and breechbolt and on the end of the front sight base. The back of the frame is marked with the Siamese lions head proof and Bangkok Police property number 258 in Thai. Light Odin import markings appear on the bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard, this company acquired and imported the majority of the Siamese Lugers from Thailand. Included with the pistol is an original walnut shoulder stock which is not matching to the gun, numbered 3474 on the left side. This pistol is featured in the book "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess on page 562, and is from Dr. Sturgess's collection. Condition: Overall Good, the metal finish is turning dull as is common on these due to the climate in which they saw service, with edge and high point wear and light sruface spotting overall. There are scattered areas of pitting on the barrel and an area of pitting on the right side of the frame above the grip panel. The straw color has mostly faded from the small parts with some dark spotting. The grip are worn, the left panel having a small chip missing under the safety lever and the right panel needs attention as it will not remain in place. Mechanically fine, the bore has shine and farily sharp rifling, showing some light corrosion throughout. The stock is in overall good condition, having small dings and scratches overall and surface spotting on the attaching iron and lever. A small piece of strap leather remains on the left side. The magazine has no proof or code markings. The barrel is not numbered or proofed, the sight assembly used from surplus artillery model parts. The top of the toggle is stamped with a 7-line Mauser banner. Blank chamber. Commercial eagle/N proof on left side of receiver. No other proofs found. The left sideframe is stamped "P.08".
