BELGIAN M26/31 ADRIAN HELMET BELGIAN M26/31 ADRIAN HELMET
French M26 style helmet with black paint finish. Consignor notes state a Model 1937 Belgian helmet with insignia for border or frontier guard. The emblem is gold washed, consisting of a medieval soldier holdling a shield, under a crown, with a banner along the bottom which reads IMPAVIDUM FERIENTRUINAE. Complete with leather chin strap and a black leather pebble grain liner. The chin strap is dry and torn on one end. The helmet retains approximately 85% paint finish, with areas of light surface rusting overall.,

Brass helmet with tan horse hair plume. Chain chin strap mounted to two rosettes, one on each side, the chain chin strap is a later replacement. White metal starburst with a brass plate around a white metal number 2 marked "HONI.SOIT.QUI.MAL.Y.PENSE.", meaning "Shamed be he who thinks evil of it". Inside is the original leather liner which is missing the sinching string in the top. The nut for the plume mount is stripped, leaving the mount a bit loose and the mount plate is missing two of the square nuts which secure it. A small oval plate on the inside top is marked "Fleming & Sons/London/St. Martinslane". Over all good-very good condition, there is some polishing compound residue along some of the edges. There are a few small dents on the back. Accompanying this helmet is a small brass gorget with a white metal crowned eagle on the front. The chain is a jewelry grade replacement. Also a shoulder board, gold braid over red felt in good condition showing some loss of the red felt under the braid.,

Manufactured by and label marked "Thomas Gordon & Sons Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland. Highland Dress Manufacturers". Personal name tag inside "Stewart". Accoutered with a Black Watch pin-back badge, Elizabeth II. Blue and red middle row dicing. Wire cage and solid complete leather chin strap. Correct with four feather trails, red hackle and two ribbons. Size about 7 1/2. Circa 1960-70s. Includes its original waxed cardboard box with cardboard plume holder. The box lid is held with a web strap and buckle. The lid has an old British Airways cargo label. In good over all condition.,

Has a Royal Regiment of Fusiliers badge, lugged, no pin. Correct red and white hackle for the Royal Fusiliers on left side. Chin strap chain with no backing. Leather sweat band missing the lace in sinching cord. Over all in good condition, the sweat band showing wear.,

BRITISH LEATHER FIRE HELMET BRITISH LEATHER FIRE HELMET
1920s era leather firefighting helmet, maker marking on the underside of the rear brim is mostly illegible, maker from Glasgow. White stenciled number 117 over the maker mark. Impressed emblem oin the front reads "BRITISH FIRE SERVICES" followed by another word which is illegible because of wear. A hole is drilled thru the front of the emblem where a badge was attached at some point. Complete leather suspension liner, beginning the separate from the leather band. One side of the chin strap is missing. Over all good, showing wear.,

New South Wales. Used into the WW2 era and still used in Ceremonial Parades. Complete with the brass scaled chin strap with leather backing. Newer complete leather liner installed. BRITISH MKIII HELMET BRITISH MKIII HELMET
Post war manufacture. The "turtle shell" MKIII helmets were first issued in time for the D-Day invasions of Normandy and saw use by the Canadian 3rd Infantry Division. WW2 examples are smewaht scarce. This example has the post war Lift-the-Dot fastener inside the top on the rubber bumper. The liner assembly is complete, with the elastic web chin strap intact (a bit stretched out). No markings found, the inside of the shell is painted black. The outer shell is painted OD green and may be an old repaint. There are lines of black paint on the outer shell. Overall good condition.,

Circa early 20th century, manufactured by and internal label marked "EDWARD SMITH, 5 BOYLE STREET, ONE DOOR FROM SAVILE ROW, LONDON W.". Full original internal wicker cage in good condition. Leather backed chin scales. Red feather hackle. Northumberland Fusiliers badge with lugs, cut for tongue badge fixation. Previous owners initials "C.V.E." on the end of the leather chin strap. The company Edward Smith was a prominent military dress uniforms and accessories manufacturer to all of the Guards regiments during the early part of the 20th century. Missing the lace in leather liner sinching string. The fur on this example is synthetic (melts under flame), so this particular hat may have been refurbished at some point. Over all in good condition.,

Lot of two original British WW1 MKI helmets, each embellished with the Cambridgeshire coat of arms and lists of the battles the regiment partook, one listing battles of WW1 and the other battles of the Boer War, applied in gold paint, the decoration applied over the original paint finish on the helmet, with a coat of varnish applied over each for protection. Both helmets are missing the liner assemblies, and one is missing the top rivit and one chin strap bale. Internally the helmets are rusting thru the original paint.,
