US LUGER TEST EAGLE HOLSTER US LUGER TEST EAGLE HOLSTER
One of the rarest US Military holsters ever produced, made by Rock Island Arsenal for the Model 1900 American Eagle Luger pistols, 1000 of which were acquired for military trials and testing in 1902. This holster is in excellent condition, and is accompanied by a letter of authentication from Robert C. Simpson, President of Simpson LTD. The front of the flap has the US in an oval embossed, with inspector initials W.K. located at the end of the flap tip below the stud opening. The back of the holster is clearly stamped ROCK ISLAND/ARSENAL/E.H.S./U.S. The stitching is intact with no areas of loose stitch or separation. The brass stud and rivits are all present and intact. There is some minor crazing to the surface finish and a very old repair on the rear side bottom for about 4 inches where the luger barrel would be. The holster has been dyed at some point to a dark brown, likely for uniform requirements,, though this does not detract from the overall condition.
