8mm (M88); fair bore, good stock, 29'' barrel, "Crown/Amberg/1890" stamped on top of receiver, German Imperial proofs on right side of receiver. "Gew.88." stamped on left side of receiver. Small "S" stamped on top of barrel chamber, marked for use with Spitzer ball ammo. Mis-matched Turkish reworked bolt. Rear sight graduation markings in Farsi script. Other visible numbers are matching. Front barrel band unit marked "113.R.6.77.". Lower band unit marked "B.4.R.R.32". Walnut stock with legible Imperial proofing. Original cleaning rod. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Fair, retaining 65% black paint finish on barrel and bands with some light pitting. Receiver is in the white with light corrosion overall. Pitting on bolt knob. Stock is worn with dings and dents overall. Buttplate retains 50% black paint and some pitting. 11mm Mauser; 90% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 32'' barrel, Tube magazine fed bolt action rifle. 1887 manufacture date. "Crown/Amberg" stamped on barrel above chamber. "I.G.Mod71/84." on left receiver. Matching serial numbers including screw heads. Standard Imperial proofing on metal and wood. Middle barrel band is loose missing part of the brass retaining pin thru the stock. Unit marked on top of buttplate tang "BLR/4.E.145". Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Fine, retaining 95% orig blue. Bolt and receiver have light corrosion. Wood has normal dings and dents with a small gouge on bottom right butt. Mechanically fine however the magazine cutoff does not function properly. Antique, s/n 703xx

8mm Mauser; 75% blue, fair bore, good stock, 29'' barrel, KAR 98b model 1920s rework with arsenal refurbished blue metal finish, mounted in a beechwood stock. Original Amberg mark and 1917 date on top of the receiver ring and Imperial proofing on the right side. Bavarian lion proof on the left side of the receiver ring. All matching except the cleaning rod. The right side of the rear sight base sleeve is stamped "S/42G" with three P/74 proofs. Those proofs appear on the updated tangent rear sight as well. Original leather sling in fair intact condition and muzzle cover. The right side of the stock is stamped with large EWB indicating issue at one time to the Bavarian civilian militia. Thinning metal finish. Handling dings and scuffs on the wood. Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling with darkness in the grooves. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. 8mm Mauser; 85% blue, good bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, German WW2 era refurbish, stamped on the bottom of the grip with an eagle/swaz/SU27 proof and on the right side of the butt between the disc and buttplate with an eagle/SU19 proof. Standard Czech BRNO markings across the top of the receiver ring with a 1924 proof date on the left side. Original blue finish and walnut stock. Un-numbered bolt, which is an Imperial German straight handle bolt body with Czech CZ marked shroud. Matching number stock. No cleaning rod, includes the attached leather sling. No import marks found. The stock disc is marked "15 P/62". There is some minor surface spotting on the metal. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n M33xx

8mm Mauser; 90% blue, very good bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Scarce nazi rework/restock of a BRNO produced VZ24 Mauser rifle. Original rework blued finish, mounted in a K98k Mauser laminated wood stock with cupped buttplate and handguard. Matching bolt, other parts are not numbered except the magazine follower, which does not match and has an eagle/214 proof. The stock is not numbered, internally or externally, and has no legible proofs or markings externally. The top of the receiver ring retains the original Czech BRNO markings, with a small eagle/63 proof stamped below.. The left side of the receiver retains the Czech "VZ.24: mark on the wall and lion proof with 1935 date on the left receiver ring. The serial number is stamped on the left side of the barrel nazi style, with eagle/swaztika military acceptance marks on the barrel and receiver ring. An eagle/63 proof appears on the right side of the receiver ring. The rear sight leaf and lower band are stamped with "1" and eagle/1 proofs. Upper band is marked only with an Imperial proof, indicating use of a surplus part. The bolt is eagle/63 proofed on the handle shank and end of the cocking piece, the extractor collar is eagle/655 proofed. Original front sight hood and cleaning rod. The attached sling is Yugoslavian surplus. No import markings. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 60xxar

8 X 58R; good bore, good stock, 33'' barrel, Manufactured by Gevaerfabriken Kjobenhavn and dated 1911. Worn original blue finish, mounted in a walnut stock. Matching except the bolt. Danish crown/12 proofed on top of the barrel chamber. Small brass disc on the right side of the butt marked "2R/1928". Nazi police eagle/L proofed on top of the barrel and receiver, and on the bottom of the stock wrist.. The barrel shroud shows some brown spotting and there is a minor dent on top between the bands. Several small dings and scraches on the stock. Mechanically fine, the bore has strong rifling showing frost throughout. C&R/FFL, s/n 814xx

Fixed rear sight with folding ladder, one standing and one folding leaf. "Crown/F.W." stamped on left side of barrel chamber. Imperial proofs and number "9778" on right chamber and receiver. Visible serial numbers are matching. "Eagle/DANZIG/Z:G:Mod:62" stamped on left receiver. Metal finished in the white. Walnut stock with 3 brass barrel bands. Steel buttplate. Orig cleaning rod. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Good. Metal is in the white with scattered corrosion and light pitting overall. Wood has typical dings, scuffs and gouges and has been repaired by splicing on the upper 15 inches of the forend. Front bbl band retainer is missing. Bore has strong rifling with corrosion along the lands and some light pitting. Mechanicaly needs attention, bolt may be assembled incorrectly. Antique, s/n 60xx

7 X 57mm; 75% blue, good bore, good stock, 23'' barrel, An interesting DWM 1893 Mauser small ring action trials rifle with prototype flip-up combination front sight/muzzle cover. Circa 1896. Left side receiver marked "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONS FABRIKEN, BERLIN.". Trigger guard marked "78" and floorplate marked "21". Blued metal finish over which is black paint finish. Bolt in the white, unmarked and un-numbered, with knob flatened on top and partially flatened on the bottom. Walnut full length stock and handguard, the stock with checkering around the wrist and semi-round knob. Two-position rear flip-up sight surrounded by the handguard. Has a unique combination bayonet lug/forend cap/muzzle cover/automatic front sight which was never adopted for production. The automatic muzzle cover/front sight assembly pivots up as pressure is applied on the trigger, presenting the barleycorn foresight for aiming, release pressure allows the muzzle cover/front sight to fold back down over the muzzle. The receiver ring has some roughly applied decoration on the sides and edge of the ring? Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Overall good. Bore is dark, rifling is strong and muzzle tight. Stock has one filled hole on the bottom forward of the sling swivel, The top of the handguard at the forend cap has a fairly recent chip of wood missing. Mechanically fine. Antique, s/n 10

8mm Mauser; 50% blue, fair bore, good stock, 29'' barrel, WW1 Navy issue Gew 98 rifle, marked on top of the receiver ring "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND/MUNITIONSFABRIKEN/BERLIN/1906". Imperial proofs on right side of receiver ring, two are the proper naval inspector’s mark, Imperial Naval acceptance marks on right side of receiver ring and bolt handle shank. Visible numbers are matching except for the lower (middle) barrel band. Complete matching bolt assembly. The left barrel and receiver are marked with what appears to be a British Sale marking. The right side of the barrel chamber is stamped with three British proofs. Top of barrel chamber stamped "S" indicatiing chambering for the Spitzer bullet. Walnut stock with Navy style marking disc on right. Original cleaning rod, leather sling and front sight/muzzle cap. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Condition: Good, original blue finish has thinned and fading to brown. In the white receiver and bolt assembly has light browning overall. Walnut stock is good with normal light dings and dents. 8mm Mauser; 75% blue, fair bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Post WW1 rework with 1920 date added on top of the receiver ring. All matching numbers. Arsenal refurbished stock, removing the original Imperial proofs and numbers, with the date 1920 stamped along the left side of the butt. The buttplate tang is unit marked "7./A.R.1.74." The buttplate and top of the receiver are stamped with an unknown marking "large asterisk 3 118". WW2 era leather sling attached. One of the trigger guard lock screws is a replacement with a droop eagle/63 proof. The metal and wood show wear and handling. Tiny import mark on the left side of the receiver. All matching including complete bolt, trigger guard screws and front sight blade. Standard Imperial proofing and military acceptance marks. Legible proofing on right side of stock and front of grip. No import markings. Thinning metal finish, with some pitting on the bolt release and on the bolt shroud. The stock has a minor crack behind the receiver tang and a tight crack on the bottom of the forend in front of the trigger guard. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 98xxe
