Cracked on left side ahead of tie plate. Metal is a rust brown patina overall. Trigger guard and lockplate seem to have been nickle plated most of which is wearing or worn off now. Many muskets of this style were imported and used by the Confederacy during the American Civil War. This specimen has no found CS or state markings however.,   |
