303 British; 85% blue, excellent bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Refurbished through Weedon Repair during the WW2 era. Winchester manufacture. Matching serial number bolt. Mis-matched number on the forend. Volley sights removed and missing the stacking swivel. Brass marking disc hole filled on the right side of the stock. The top of the bolt handle has some light filing marks. Some rust on the front sight base. Mechanically fine with a nice bore, tight muzzle. Plastic oiler in butt trap. No import markings found. 577 Cal; 85% blue, good bore, good stock, 30 5/8'' barrel, Reblued metal finish, mounted in a lightly refinished original walnut stock. The barrel and forend altered to length. The top of the barrel is marked JOSEPH BOURNE & SON BIRMINGHAM. The markings on the lockplate are faint, the Royal Crown and a couple broad arrow proofs still visible. Fixed front and ladder style rear sights. Brass furniture. The metal and wood show light wear and handling. Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling with some scattered light pitting. 577 Cal; very good bore, good stock, 36.5'' barrel, Conversion from earlier Pattern 1853 percussion rifle muskets to breechloading. Original metal finish and walnut stock held with 3 bands. The lockplate retains original markings. 1862/L.A.Co. along the with Crown.V.R. and a proof. The breechblock, frame and barrel have several various proof markings, the top of the breechblock marked SNIDER PATENTS and 3. The frame and breechblock are both marked with a crown/V and L.A.C. The top of the barrel in front of the rear sight is stamped Crown/1/E. The stock has been lightly sanded at some point leaving no markings, the brass buttplate tang is neatly engraved with a name however it is illegible. Includes the cleaning rod which is not original and the attached buff leather sling. The metal has turned a pleasant blue/patina mix and traces of case color remain on the frame and tang. The stock is overall nice however the toe has been repaired, a nice solid job. Mechanically fine. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, showing some scattered minor pitting. Antique.,

577 Cal; very good bore, good stock, 19 1/8'' barrel, Manufactured in England by Enfield and dated 1870. Patina metal, mounted in a walnut stock. Brass mounts. Fixed front and ladder rear carbine sights. The buttplate tang is stamped R4/E/19. The screws are present on each side of the stock for the leather sight cover. Reproduction firing pin protector. Many British proofs along the left side of the barrel. The top of the chamber is stamped III. The stock has many dings and scratches, with old crack in the front and rear of the lockplate on the right side. Mechanically fine. The bore has shine and strong rifling. Antique., s/n 1xx

410 Ga; excellent bore, fair stock, 25.25'' barrel, Originally an LSA Co 1918 MKIII Sht LE (SMLE), converted in India at RFI Ishapore in 1932 to single shot 410 bore, marked on the left side of the buttsocket with the conversion markings. Some of the parts and wood are Indian replacements. Matching bolt and rear sight, the other numbered parts are mismatched. Older Springfield Sporters import, marked on the barrel under the rear handguard. The metal finish has worn to a blue/gray patina with surface spotting overall. The chamber has been relieved for 3 inch 410 shotshells. The wood shows wear with dings and small gouges, the extensions on the upper handguard have broken off. Mechanically fine, however the bolt release is weak., s/n O837xx

303 British; 90% blue, fair bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, British manufactured SMLE MKIII rifle with slot for cuttoff (removed), reworked and refurbished in India with a matte blue metal finish. The original markings a scrubbed from the right side of the buttstock, the elft buttsocket is marked "No1 Mk.III/FR/1939". Matching bolt, rear sight leaf, nosecap and forend. CAI import marked on the left side of the receiver. Screw thru the forend. Wood patch repairs on the heel of the butt and left side of the forend at the safety. Mechanically fine. The bore is worn. 303 British; 60% blue, fair bore, fair stock, 18 5/8'' barrel, Modified. Ishapore manufacture, the buttsocket scrubbed of the original markings on the right side, the left side marked NO1 MKIII*/FR 47. Matching bolt and rear sight, mis-matched nosecap. Consignor notes state that this rifle was shortened to length in the Middle East regions ie: Afghanistan. This modification appears to have been done long ago. The brass bolt thru the forend indicates a possible grenade launching rifle or replacement of the screw usually seen in Indian reworks. No import markings found. The metal finish shows wear with traces of black paint here and there. The wood has a few arsenal patch repairs with "buscuit" repairs on the handguards to stabilize beginning cracks. The forend has small sections of wood removed at the bottom corners in front of the buttsocket, which appear to have been done to relieve the areas from contact with the socket. Mechanically fine. The bore has shine, showing wear to the rifling and darkness in the grooves. The muzzle remains tight. Includes the attached original pattern 14 leather rifle sling. C&R/FFL, s/n 938xxY

303 British; 95% blue, excellent bore, excellent stock, 25.25'' barrel, B.S.A. manufacture, dated 1941. Original blue finish, mounted in Australian coachwood stock and handguards. The metal along and under the wood has been coated with green waterproofing paint. Matching bolt, rear sight and nosecap. Rear sight protector and trigger guard are Australian parts, remainder are British manufacture. Normal length butt. No Australian ownership or rework markings found. JJCo import marked on the right leg of the charger bridge. Mechanically fine. Clean strong bore with a tight muzzle. C&R/FFL, s/n M624xx

Normal length walnut buttstock. Beechwood forend and handguards. British contract parts. MKII stamped adjustable rear sight. The metal finish shows some wear and thinning. Mechanically fine. The bore has shine and strong rifling with a tight muzzle, showing some minor "pin prick" pitting in the grooves. C&R/FFL, s/n BE137xx

303 British; 75% blue, excellent bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Fazakerly armory refurbished with black paint metal finish, mounted in a beechwood forend and handguards and a walnut buttstock. Matching bolt and magazine. Originally a Savage manufactured No4 MKI*, upgraded in 1951 to the No4 MK2 pattern rifle with trigger fixed to the receiver instead of the trigger guard. The rifle is fitted with a MK2 300/600 yard flip rear sight. No recent import markings, the end of the barrel has the British "tons" release markings. The metal shows wear to the paint finish. The wood has small dings and scratches overall. The heel of the buttstock has a chip of wood missing. Mechanically fine. The bore is clean and sharp with a tight muzzle. C&R/FFL, s/n 87C29xx

Proper 800 yard graduated milled adustable rear sight. Used, over all good-very good condition. Mechanically fine. The bore is clean, showing some wear to the rifling and light frost in the grooves. 303 British; 90% blue, good bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Manufactured at the Long Branch Arsenal in Canada, dated 1950. Original blue finish and walnut stock. Matching bolt and magazine. All correct parts marked with a small C/A. Older CAI import, marked on the end of the barrel. Proper CMK3 stamped elevation adjustable rear sight. Number 1 marked bolt head. Includes an original web sling and a No4 MKII spike bayonet with scabbard and a web belt frog. The metal finish shows some high point edge wear. The wood is dark and oil soaked with small dings and scuffs. There are some small cracks on the bottom of the forend in front of the lower band. Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling, the muzzle showing approximately 1/8 inch using the "bullet test", showing darkness in the grooves and frost throughout. C&R/FFL, s/n 92L06xx

303 British; good bore, good stock, 30.25'' barrel, Original markings on the right side of the frame CROWN/VR ENFIELD/1881/III with a downgrade to 2, which is cancelled. The left side of the frame is marked CROWN/VR ENFIELD/1896/M.E. 303/I. Several British proofs with rework dates 1890 and 1893. Sale markings on the barrel, frame and stock. The right side of the buttstock has a faint roundel cartcouche and other rework markings. Missing the front sight blade and cleaning rod. Worn metal finish with some pitting on the barrel, bands and forend tang. The walnut stock has been sanded and there is a gap between the frame and lower end of the forend. Mechanically fine. The bore show some wear to the rifling, the muzzle remains tight, with some frost in the grooves. Antique., s/n 35xxC

MARTINI HENRY MARK IV MARTINI HENRY MARK IV
577-450 Martini; 50% blue, very good bore, fair stock, 33.25'' barrel, Converted in India to smoothbore, reportedly for use with low powered shotshell and ball cartridges for guard/crowd control purposes, and also for issue to suspect friendly forces by the British in the country. MKIV long lever rifle with fixed front sight which doubles as a bayonet mount, and a fixed rear sight which replaced the original ladder sight. Faint British proofs remain on the barrel knox. The markings on the right side of the frame are faint, ENFIELD/IV/1. The right side of the stock is recessed for a stock disc which has been removed and is marked with faint Indian roundel cartouches. Complete with an original leather sling (not properly attached) and cleaning rod. The metal has traces of blue finish but has mostly turned patina. The wood has been lightly sanded, with an area on the right side of the forend where a patch repair was made now missing the piece of wood, showing some dings and scratches. The action is tight however needs some work. At times the rifle will fire simply by putting some pressure on the lever. Includes an original bayonet with scabbard, the bayonet having some surface rusting and the scabbard seam is beginning to separate. SOLD AS IS needing attention to the action. Antqiue., s/n 6xx

450-577 Martini; 80% blue, fair bore, good stock, 33.25'' barrel, Indian arsenal refurbished blue metal finish, reworked in India to smoothbore, reportedly these modified rifles were meant for issue to colonial troops who had questionable loyalty so that they would not have small arms quite as good as regular troops. Faint original markings on the right side of the frame show Enfield manufacture. The rifle retains the original British proofs and Government ownership marks, and the top of the frame is stamped with the Indian rework marks "broad arrow/I/A". The barrel is fitted with a fixed rear sight which replaced the original ladder sight. The stock has several markings, stamped and in paint, on the right side. Complete with the original cleaning rod and includes the white buff sling attached. Mechanically fine. The bore has some pitting. Antique., s/n A46xx

Some scattered light spotting on the metal and light pitting on the forend tang. Mechanically fine. The bore has some shine and sharp rifling and should clean out to better condition.
