ROSS 1905; 303 British; 80% blue, very good bore, fair stock, 24.5'' barrel, Metal is a mostly faded blue patina overall. Near as can be determined this is a commercial rifle that has a customized military stock. No U.S. or military markings on the metal. There are several military marks and dates on the right side of the buttstock. It appears that the forend has been 'built up' by addition of wood. There are hairline cracks running the length of the underside of the stock which look to be seams where the wood was added. Stock has been hand checkered. There is a 'dished' out area on the left side of the stock with six holes drilled through in no particular order? It does not appear the receiver was drilled. There is a full length handguard with a Pilblad fully adjustable rear sight. An old shotgun buttpad has been added. The work was done on this rifle many years ago. Mechanically it seems fine., s/n T3xxE  |
