12,7X44R; good bore, good stock, 37'' barrel, Remington manufacture frame, fitted with a Gustafs barrel. Browned finish barrel, casehardened frame and mounted in a birchwood stock. The stock, buttplate, lower band and middle band have serial numbers matching the number on the barrel. The forend has no legilbe markings. An 1890 date is stamped on the right side of the stock wrist. The finish on the barrel is thinning with light to moderate spotting overall. The frame has visible but fading case colors with scattered spotting. The wood has light dings and scuffs. A brass disc is present on the left side of the stock. A non-original cleaning rod is present. Centerfire breechblock. The action works fine. The bore has some shine and strong rifling, showing some corrosion and darkness in the grooves. The barrel has been shortened at the muzzle approximately 1/2 inch. Antique., s/n 179xx
