44-40 Win; 90% blue, excellent bore, excellent stock, 30'' barrel, Manufactured in 1903. Original blue finish and walnut stock. Stamped on top of the barrel with the Winchester address, King's Improvement and patent dates 1866 and 1860 in two lines. The caliber designation 44 W.C.F. appears on top of the barrel chamber and the bottom of the brass elevator is marked 44 CAL. The top of the upper tang is engraved MODEL.1873. Fixed front sight with a military style ladder rear sight. Sling swivels mounted on the middle band and buttstock. Casehardened buttplate with trap. The metal finish on the barrel and bands shows some minor wear and handling. The frame has some flaking finish and a few handling scratches. There is a small area of pitting on the left side of the frame. The lever and hammer retain most of the case color. The bolt retains most of its finish and the extractor and rear sight spring have all of the bright fire blue finish. The wood has scattered minor dings, with areas on the left side of the forend and buttstock having heavier dings. Mechanically fine and clean internally. The bore is bright and sharp.
