38 S&W; 95% blue, excellent bore, excellent grips, 5'' barrel, 4th Model manufactured 1895-1909, this example made after 1898. Original blue finish, casehardened hammer and trigger, and checkered hard rubber grips with S&W monograms. Matching numbers. Crisp clear S&W markings, This example has a Peruvian crest stamped on the left side frame plate. This gun is accompanyed by a S&W factory letter signed by Roy G. Jinks and dated 1975. The letter states that this particular revolver was shipped to M.W. Robinson in New York City, N.Y. on November 18, 1908, and was part of a large shipment of 500 guns. The metal finish shows a few scattered areas of spotting, on the cylinder, edge of the barrel rib, sides of the muzzle and on the top of the frame behind the hammer. There are some tiny dings on the butt of the grip frame. Mechanically fine and clean. Includes the original brown hinged lid box whiich is numbered on the bottom to the gun. Both internal labels are near 100%. The end label remains at approximately 85%. The box itself is in fair condition, showing some handling and storage wear with the four corners on the lid separated.
