6 Bore; good bore, good stock, 43.25'' barrel, Manufactured by J.S. Iddings, a gun maker in Indiana, circa 1840s. Part octagon barrel wth browned finish, casehardened Remington made lock, mounted in a plain american walnut stock with pewter forend cap and double wedges, silver mounts, iron buttplate and trigger guard. Small silver front sight blade, elevation adjustable rear sight. Ramrod appears to be the original. The barrel has light surface rusting over all. The lock retains some fading case color. The stock has an old 1 inch grain crack on the left side of the trigger guard tang and an old chip on the left side of the toe with wood filler added. The lock functions fine. Bore measures 25.40mm (.95 in.). Antique,
