380 ACP; excellent bore, 7.25'' barrel, Patent model for MacNaughton repeating pistol, British patent 10750/1886. This incomplete, in the white psitol was possibly presented to the British patent office for inspection during the patent process. Although the barrel and top of the receiver have been stamped with British proof marks, there are no indentifying markings are numbers. Apparently the focus was on the trigger mechanism. James MacNaughton was a well known Scottish gunmaker who, as outlined in his patent, designed this pistol to be incorporated as the grip with a short hunting sword for the dispatch of wounded game. The metal has some oxidation and light spotting. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. C&R/FFL,
