9mm Luger; 40% blue, 10% straw, poor bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, Worn original blue finish and strawed small parts, checkered walnut grips. First two numerals of the original serial number 2135v overstamped 87. The bottom of the barrel has a stick eagle/63 proof over the serial number, a non standard proof and area for this mark. Also a double stamped stick eagle/63 proof on the right side of the frame above the trigger. The top of the chamber is stamped with an "S" over the date 1936. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a crown/U proof. Matching except for the toggle assembly which has been replaced with an Erfurt part of WW1 vintage which has a British crown/BV view proof. The firing pin is matching to the frame. The right side of the receiver is stamped with a crescent moon/star and TC preceeding "Subaylara / mahsustur" (officers property), partially obscuring a small droop eagle/63 proof. Another small droop eagle/63 proof is stamped on the back of the frame. Unmarked wood bottom magazine. This Luger is from the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess and is featured in the book "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess on page 541.
