9mm Luger; 70% blue, 20% straw, good bore, fair grips, 4'' barrel, Schutzpolizei Dusseldorf unit marked 1920 Police issue Luger pistol. 4 inch 9mm caliber barrel with full serial number on the bottom. 1920 date above chamber. DWM scroll on center toggle link. British proofed with the "tons" export markings on the bottom of the barrel. Eagle/ArA4 proofs on right receiver. Sear safety installed above the sideplate. Checkered wood grips. All numbered parts are matching except the firing pin and magazine. The frame is cut for the magazine safety which has been removed. Front grip strap has a cancelled Police unit mark which was "S.D.II R.374" (Dusseldorf Police). Backstrap has a cancelled Police unit mark "SCH.R.22." (unidentified). Haenel Schmeisser magazine that is eagle/L proofed on body and aluminum bottom and is not matching to the gun. This pistol is featured on pages 466, 576 and 1164 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. The metal has scattered light corrosion and spotting with thinning on the grip frame straps. Bore shows some light corrosion in the grooves.
