9mm Luger; 85% blue, excellent bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, Late WW2 commercial parts assembly, 9m/m caliber barrel. 1940 date over the chamber, "byf" Mauser code marked center toggle link. Eagle/N proofs appear on the right side of the receiver and on the bottom of the barrel. Bottom of the barrel also stamped with an eagle/J and "2". Barrel is not serial numbered, and is also stamped on top over the left side with an eagle/33 proof. Three digit serial number with no suffix and large font. All numbered parts on gun are matching. Many parts have all three digits of the serial number including the checkered walnut grips. Proper extruded blued steel fxo magazine with pinned aluminum base, not numbered and without the usual military e/37 proofing. The sideplate is an Erfurt part retaining the proof on the side. A rare pistol that was assembled from mainly military parts for commercial sale. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Fine over all condition, most finish wear is from thinning on the grip frame strap. There is a small area of filing marks on the right side frame rail. Mechanically sound.
