Circa early 20th century, manufactured by and internal label marked "EDWARD SMITH, 5 BOYLE STREET, ONE DOOR FROM SAVILE ROW, LONDON W.". Full original internal wicker cage in good condition. Leather backed chin scales. Red feather hackle. Northumberland Fusiliers badge with lugs, cut for tongue badge fixation. Previous owners initials "C.V.E." on the end of the leather chin strap. The company Edward Smith was a prominent military dress uniforms and accessories manufacturer to all of the Guards regiments during the early part of the 20th century. Missing the lace in leather liner sinching string. The fur on this example is synthetic (melts under flame), so this particular hat may have been refurbished at some point. Over all in good condition.
