36 Cal; 30% blue, fair bore, good grips, 6 1/2'' barrel, Model 1858 Rider double action revolver converted to cartridge use. This relatively scarce gun was carried by Patrick Datin. He came from Ireland, and once in America joined the U.S. Army and was sent to the Indian Territory in the Dakotas. Reportably was wounded by an arrow. He is now buried in Albia, Iowa. When mustered out of the Army he was allowed to keep the revolver, given a 20 dollar gold piece and a saddle. This story was told to me by family members who were present at the auction in Albia, Iowa where I purchased this gun. ZC-38., s/n 53xx
