577 CAL; 95% blue, very good bore, very good stock, 33'' barrel, Case colored lockpalte marked 1861 Tower. Several English proofs on the barrel and small parts. Blued finish barrel and Enfield pattern bands. Brass forend tip, trigger guard and buttplate. The stock appears to be a beechwood. Rear sight graduated for 1100 yards. 5 groove rifling. The original cleaning rod intact and what appears to be an original leather lsing is attached which is maker marked. The left side stock flat is marked with inspector initials W.R. These were overall similar to the standard pattern 1856 short rifle except having the 5 groove rifling as used on the Naval Rifles. Nice example.,
